1. Easy Chicken Divan Recipe
Chicken that's just divine
From the, "Houston
Junior League Cookbook ," published in cooperation with
your Daily InBox newsletter.
INGREDIENTS:
2 packages frozen broccoli, or 1 bunch fresh broccoli
2 cups sliced, cooked chicken
(about 3 large chicken breast halves)
2 cans condensed cream of chicken
soup
1 cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2-1 teaspoon curry powder
1/2 cup grated, sharp, processed cheese
1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
1 Tablespoon melted butter
Pimiento strips
TO PREPARE:
Cook broccoli in boiling, salted water until tender; drain.
Arrange stalks in greased 11-1/2 inch x 7-1/2 inch x 1-1/2 inch
pyrex baking dish with flowerets facing outward. Place
chicken on top of broccoli. Combine soup, mayonnaise,
lemon juice and curry powder; pour over chicken. Sprinkle
with cheese. Combine crumbs and butter; sprinkle over all.
Bake
at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes, or until thoroughly heated.
Garnish with pimiento strips.
SERVES: 4 - 6

2. Easy Chicken in Wine
Chicken with white wine for that extra splash of flavor

INGREDIENTS:
6 chicken
breast halves
Salt
Pepper
1/2 cup butter
or margarine
1 cup chopped green
onions
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 (4-ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained
4 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 cup white wine
Pinch rosemary
TO PREPARE:
Salt and pepper chicken. In a Dutch oven or large
casserole, brown chicken in butter.
Add all other ingredients. Cover. Bake at 275
degrees for 2 hours.
SERVES: 4 - 6

3. Easy Southern Banana Pudding
Ingredients
3 cups cold milk
2 packages (4-serving size each) Jell-O Vanilla Flavor
Instant Pudding &Pie Filling
32 Nilla Wafers
2 bananas, sliced
2 cups thawed frozen whipped topping
Preparation
POUR milk into large bowl. Add pudding mixes. Beat with wire
whisk 2 minutes or until well blended. Let stand 5 minutes.
ARRANGE layer of wafers on bottom and up side of 2-quart serving
bowl. Add layer of banana slices; top with 1/3 of the pudding.
Repeat layers, ending with pudding. Spread whipped topping over
pudding.
REFRIGERATE 3 hours or until ready to serve.

Ingredients:
4 c Cranberry juice
cocktail
1 c Chopped candied ginger
(1-jar)
3 md Oranges
1 cn (12-oz) thawed frozen
apple-juice concentrate
1 cn (6-oz) thawed frozen-limeade
concentrate
2 c Seedless grapes
4 c -Water
2 Bottles (32
oz each) gingerale
1 lb Dry ice -up to 2 lbs
A smoking cauldron of punch made with grapes and orange
peel masquerading as eyeballs and worms.
A SERIOUS CAUTION: never touch dry ice; use tongs to
handle
In a 1 to 2 quart pan, bring 1 cup of cranberry juice and
candied ginger to
a boil over high heat. Boil, uncovered, about 2
minutes, set aside.
With a vegetable peeler, pare peel (colored part only)
from oranges; cut
peel into thin 2-inch-long worms; or use an Oriental
shredder to make long
shreds. Add orange peel to cranberry mixture. Cover
and chill at least 4
hours or as long as overnight.
Juice oranges; put juice in a 6 to 8 quart pan or heavy
bowl. Stir in
cranberry-ginger mixture, the 3 cups cranberry juice,
apple concentrate,
limeade, grapes and water. If made ahead, cover and chill
up to 2 hours.
Add ginger ale and about a 1 pound piece of dry ice (DO
NOT put small
pieces in punch or cups); ice should smolder at least 30
minutes. Ladle
into cups. Add any remaining ice when bubbling ceases.
Makes 5 quarts; allow about 1-1/2 cups for a serving.

5. Everlasting Angel Biscuits
Make these to cherish forever and ever

published in cooperation with your Daily InBox newsletter.
INGREDIENTS:
2-1/2 cups flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons baking
powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking
soda
1/2 cup shortening
1 tablespoon warm water
1-1/2 teaspoons dry yeast
1 cup buttermilk
TO PREPARE:
1. Sift dry ingredients together.
2. Cut shortening into dry ingredients until mixture
resembles cornmeal.
3. Dissolve yeast in warm water, then stir into
buttermilk.
4. Combine flour mixture and liquid ingredients to make a
stiff dough.
5. Roll to 1/2-inch thickness on floured board.
6. Cut into 2-inch biscuits and bake
on greased baking sheet until browned.
Temperature: 450 degrees
Time: 10 minutes
YIELD: 30 biscuits
